Designing a scalable AI platform for enterprise intelligence

TWG Global develops AI-powered products that help organizations work with complex information, make decisions, and manage specialized workflows across banking and financial services.

I helped shape the product experience across a growing portfolio of AI applications, designing a flexible foundation that could support highly specialized workflows without creating a fragmented experience for users.

Challenge

TWG's clients had very different problems to solve. Regulatory teams needed to monitor changing requirements. Legal teams needed to research and analyze documents. Financial teams needed to surface risk. Executives needed to quickly understand information across the organization.

The challenge wasn't simply designing each workflow—it was creating a product framework that could adapt to these different needs while remaining coherent and scalable.

As the product portfolio grew, we needed to answer a larger design question:

How do you design both a consistent experience and bespoke use cases?

Building a flexible product foundation

I worked with stakeholders and engineers to audit the interaction patterns that could be shared across products and the areas where workflows needed to remain specialized. Rather than designing each application as a standalone experience, I helped establish reusable patterns for:

  • Conversational AI and agent use cases
  • Research and citation
  • Document libraries and analysis
  • OCR extraction review
  • Risk monitoring and regulatory compliance
  • Financial data processing and review

This allowed us to treat the product ecosystem as a system rather than a collection of individual applications.

From individual products to a scalable system

A major part of the work was creating a shared visual and interaction foundation that could support multiple client products and brands.

Reusable components and interaction patterns created consistency across the platform, while a flexible visual system allowed individual products to retain their own identity.

This shifted the design process from repeatedly solving the same problems to building a foundation that could accelerate future product development.

Outcome

The resulting framework gave TWG a scalable foundation for a growing ecosystem of AI-powered products. The system supports different workflows and client needs without requiring every experience to be designed from scratch, while shared patterns and components created greater consistency across the portfolio. Most importantly, the work established a product model that could evolve as AI capabilities and client use cases continued to change.

The impact: a fragmented set of over 15 specialized AI use cases became a more cohesive, scalable product ecosystem—giving the team a stronger foundation for designing and delivering new workflows.
